Click Restore Your System to restore your system to a previously known state. You can select backups you have copied or created on other media or the local hard disk drive. Selections include the local hard drive second hard drive CD or DVD USB hard drive or a mapped network drive.

If the IBM preload is used on the system you may choose to recover the system back to the original factory condition. This is a drastic measure and will destroy all data and files added since first boot. On systems with a custom corporate preload this option and the PC doctor option are not available.

Click on Configure then Set Recovery Password. In this screen you can reset the password that protects the pre-boot environment from unauthorized access. If you change the password and forget it you will not be able to access the pre-boot environment.

The Communicate category allows you to communicate with the Internet. Click Communicate then Open Browser. The default screen is the IBM Support Web site. You can download drivers or access technical support hints and tips from here. This HTML page can be changed or modified to reflect a corporate IT support site or other support pages.

The Download Files link can also be configured to reflect corporate IT support preferences. The default is the IBM Downloadable File Matrix support site. From here you can download multiple files at once by entering your system machine type and model and selecting the files to download.

If you have a backup stored on a network drive you can click the Map Network drive link and enter the UNC location for the network resource.
