Symptom

Upon starting Microsoft Windows Vista you may see an error from the Windows Program Compatibility Assistant indicating that the ThinkPad Power Management Service has a known compatibility problem with Windows Vista. This message appears after applying Microsoft Windows Update QFE 929427.

Solution

Microsoft will issue an updated Windows QFE fix (KB932246) during the middle of March 2007 that correctly recognizes the ThinkPad Power Management Service as being compatible with Windows Vista.
